Global Reporting was contracted to work with communication within the framework of a Sida funded water and environmental project in the city of Erbil in the Iraqi Kurdistan. The objective was to raise awareness of the need to conserve water, and to train officials from local water authorities on how to work in dialogue with the public. The key message of the campaign was “Water is life!”, a message that was used in all the activities. 70 percent of those who participated in the campaign stated that they saved more water after the campaign.
