The fact that 1,000 women die every day from complications related to pregnancy and child-birth is a violation of the universal human right to life and health. Yet there are no penalties for those governments that don’t invest in saving the lives of women. This fact guided the Sida seminar on maternal mortality that Global Reporting moderated at the Human Rights Days in Stockholm in 2013. The panel was made up by representatives from the Karolinska Institute, Sida and Ericsson Research.
This is one of many examples of the moderating done by Global Reporting. Several of our staff have extensive experience in leading discussions in both Swedish and English.
